How to submit
your artwork to us |

| Artwork for submission in the Microbiologist MUST comply with the following specifications. Artwork submitted in a different format may incur additional production costs. If in doubt please contact us for assistance BEFORE submitting your artwork. We cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in your advert if these specifications are not followed. | |||
Artwork MUST
be submitted in one of the following two formats ONLY |

1. Adobe ACROBAT™ 4.0 compatible PDF version 1.3 Files. 2. QUARK XPRESS™ DOCUMENTS (see below) If you are supplying PDF file(s) they should be created with Adobe Acrobat™ Distiller using our custom Distiller joboptions settings file. You can obtain this file by clicking the link below. Once you have downloaded this file all you need to do is to copy it to your Adobe Acrobat Distiller application folder on your PC or Mac. Instructions on how to do this are given below. Before you create your PDF YOU MUST ensure your advert contains no RGB colours or RGB images. Any images which ARE used in your advertisement MUST be in CMYK and placed at actual size at a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Please note that Adobe Photoshop is NOT a suitable application to create your advert in. You should also avoid using Adobe "PDF creator" or the PDF creation option available in applications like Microsoft® Word as these DO NOT produce pre-press compatible PDF files. ALWAYS USE ACROBAT DISTILLER ONLY to create your PDF! |

(This is a PLAIN TEXT file that you can copy to your Adobe ACROBAT™ Distiller SETTINGS folder. On Windows PC's this folder is usually in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Distillr\Settings. (where "5.0" is the version number of the software). On Apple Macintosh computers this folder is usually in Macintosh HD: Adobe:Acrobat 5.0: Distiller: Settings. (where "5.0" is the version number of the software). Adobe Acrobat Distiller will recognise this file and once installed it will appear as a new option in the drop-down list of job options settings files within Acrobat Distiller. |
