| Royal Society warns against cutting science funding |
9th March 2010 |
| <back
A report from the Royal Society's The Fruits of Curiosity inquiry has strongly encouraged increased science funding even in the tough economic climate. The report encourages the incoming government to increase science spending to ensure the UK maintains its world class status. The report contains two key messages, that increased science funding will encourage economic growth and that the UK needs to attempt to keep up with the science funding available in other countries. The report was put together by a team which included former Science Ministers, representatives from industry and Nobel Laureates as well as Sir Martin Taylor former vice-president of the Royal Society.
