  • Legionnaire's disease in compost 3rd March 2010
    <back

Several cases of Legionnaire's disease in Scotland have been attributed to potting compost. The cases published recently in Eurosurveillance journal, showed for the first time a link between Legionnaire's disease and the use of potting compost in the UK. The cases of infection by Legionella longbeachae were in 2008 and 2009. The results of this study indicate a potential requirement for warning labels on compost.
