SfAM Membership Benefits

Membership of the Society for Applied Microbiology brings many benefits.

Our subscription year runs from 1st January annually and covers journals for the following calendar year. Full ordinary members, full student members and associate members receive quarterly copies of SfAM Microbiologist and can register for Society meetings at preferential rates. Only full members and full student members receive the Society's journals and enjoy full access to the Members' areas on the website.

The basic membership subscription entitles full ordinary members and full student members to three online journals: Journal of Applied Microbiology (JAM), Letters in Applied Microbiology (LAM) and Environmental Microbiology. If you wish to receive hard copies of these journals additional charges apply. Access to the electronic versions of these journals is via Synergy.

Want to attend one of our meetings, visit a laboratory overseas, arrange for a student to gain some work experience in your laboratory or organise a one-day meeting in your region? Can't find the money to support this worthwhile venture? Then apply for an SfAM grant. SfAM have an extensive range of grants and awards available to all members for these and additional activities relating to the greater understanding of applied microbiology.
