eAffiliate Summer Conference bursary

Each year the Society offers a limited number of bursaries to enable eAffiliate Members to attend the Society’s Summer Conference. Each bursary will cover the financial costs of attending the event including registration, accommodation, meals and reasonable travel expenses. Please note that expenses will only be refunded retrospectively, after the successful applicant has attended the event.
 

 

  14. Please note: You must be able to fund your attendance at the conference temporarily as expenses will only be paid AFTER the event. The following section is for you to provide details of who will temporarily cover the cost of attendance.

  18. In submitting this application you agree to abide by all the terms and conditions as specified and understand that should you fail to attend the conference no expenses will be paid.

Terms and Conditions


1.    Bursaries are only available to eAffiliate Members. The applicant must have been an eAffiliate Member for at least a full year before the start of the Conference.

2.    Applications must be received at the Society Office by 16 April 2012. No applications will be considered after this date.

3.    All expenses incurred by a successful applicant will be paid after the conference without exception. It is recommended, therefore, that the applicant seek temporary funding from other sources e.g. Employer or Institution. If an applicant is successful, the Society will issue a written commitment to cover all the costs, provided that appropriate receipts are presented with any claim.

4.    Each bursary is awarded is at the sole discretion of the Society for Applied Microbiology.

5.    Expenses will only be paid by bank transfer directly into an appropriate bank account.

6.    The applicant must provide a completed expenses claim form (available from the Society following the event) with original receipts for all expenses that are to be reimbursed. Expenses that are claimed without the relevant receipt, will not be paid.
