SfAM events

SfAM holds three scientific meetings every year and one lecture evening which celebrates the success of the journal Environmental Microbiology.

The Winter Meeting, normally held at the Royal Society in early January, kicks off our meeting programme. The Denver Russell Memorial Lecture begins this one-day meeting with two parallel sessions on hot topics in applied microbiology.

In April each year, we hold a Spring Meeting with a clinical microbiology focus covering subjects which are particularly relevant to the work of biomedical scientists. The Procter and Gamble Applied Microbiology in Healthcare award lecture kicks off the day.

The Summer Conference is the big one! This four-day meeting is held in one of four locations across the British Isles, Edinburgh, Brighton, Cardiff and Dublin. The Lewis B Perry Memorial Lecture starts proceedings on the evening of day 1 and  following this are three days of vibrant science and a packed social programme.

Finally, the Environmental Microbiology Lecture is held at the oppulent Royal Society of Medicine and is a great way for attendees to learn something new and to meet old friends and new acquaintances over a drink at the reception.
